My friend goes to Guatemala each spring break on a medical mission trip. During this trip, they travel to remote areas of Guatemala providing much-needed medical services to the poor, who, in most cases, walk many miles to the medical tents to receive services. These people make the trek without shoes or with extremely worn shoes that do not fit.
I am collecting shoes to distribute to the people he will serve this spring break. If you have any old shoes you or your family no longer wears, will you consider donating them? They will accept any shoes, even if they’re worn (even old shoes that have small holes in the toes – that’s how much these people need shoes). Most of the people there are under 5’2”, so they primarily need smaller adult sizes, under size 10, and kid shoes.
I will be collecting them at the February meeting only.. Yvonne Evans
