NEWCOMERS AND NEIGHBORS OF WACO POLICIES
(Founded September 1989 as Waco Newcomers Club)
OBJECTIVES:
The objectives of Newcomers and Neighbors of Waco are to welcome all women of McLennan County and to participate in the civic, social, and community life of Central Texas.
MEMBERSHIP:
Prospective members may attend two (2) Newcomers and Neighbors activities before becoming a member. There is no limit on the number of members in the association.
DUES:
Association dues of $35 are due on June 1st of each year. Checks should be made out to Newcomers and Neighbors.
BOARD MEMBERS:
A board member may hold only one office during any given year. An elected board member may only hold the same office on the board for up to two consecutive years of service. Certain appointed board members may hold the same office for more than two consecutive years of service.
GENERAL MEETINGS:
General meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month. Meetings begin at 11:30 a.m.
BOARD MEETINGS:
Board meetings are held on the same day as the general meetings.
RESERVATIONS:
All reservations must be made online at www.newcomersandneighborsofwaco.com before the deadline date, which is noon of the Friday before the luncheon. Payment is made to the Baylor Club, at the luncheon, via credit/debit card only.
Cancellations: If you cancel after the deadline, you will be billed for your meal unless a late reservation fills your place.
No Shows: Anyone who reserves but does not attend, and has not arranged a substitute, will be billed for the meal.
Walk-Ins: Members without a reservation will only be seated if space is available and will be charged for the meal.
Not on the Reservation List: If you reserved (verified by the Reservations Director) but your name is missing from the list, you will be seated.
MISCELLANEOUS:
A member may receive only one door prize per meeting.
